Lille
The Scene Nondescript from the outside, the only evidence of Lille is the store's modest sign on North Avenue. Sticking to the low-profile theme, the interior is simple with nearly bare white walls and minimal track lighting, showcasing a vibrant selection of modern and contemporary "retro" products.
The Goods Shop owner Lydia Lando handpicks her merchandise from all over the world, revolving practical ware and eclectic home decoration accessories from Germany, France, Australia, Italy, Thailand and other farflung places. Items are either handcrafted by internationally known designers like Chilewich and Christian Tortu or created by local artisans like jewelry from Amanda Larsen Puck and pillows by Shokrian Gabier. Prices range from $5-$6,000 (for furniture), and most items are individually displayed to give this simple boutique a hip art-gallery feel.
